Souvenir Helmet
Souvenir Helmet
M42 ckl 66, #6139 A very interesting veteran painted souvenir helmet that
has the possibility of the soldier being part of the 1st Infantry Division. The
main battle on the front of the helmet is Hill 609 in Algiers, Africa. This was
a very important and costly battle for the Allies that opened the way to over
power the German Africa Corps in North Africa. The battles listed on the
helmet are closest to the 1st Infantry Divisions path in WW2. The other US
Infantry Divisions involved in the battle for hill 609 were the 9th Infantry
Division and 34th Infantry Division. A great Vet Art helmet that is also
published in Bill Sheas book. HA-241 SOLD
