M40 Single Decal Heer Combat Helmet
SE 64, #9806 This helmet came out of the woodwork recently and is
untouched. A great combat helmet that has the right wear and soiling to
give it that “been there” look. Excellent exterior paint with natural wear to
the dome and a great looking decal. The steel liner band is too tight into
the shell to see the date, but it is guaranteed to be original to helmet. It
has a pig skin liner that is named. The painted buckle chin strap is maker
marked and dated 1940. There are 3 small holes that were drilled into the
lower flange of the helmet, done by either the vet or the original German
soldier for possible wire or other concealment applications.
