Japanese Type 90 Combat Helmet with Bring Home Tag

Japanese type 90 combat helmet with bring home tag. This helmet was picked up
by Robert G. Gerst Seaman 1st class, USN who served aboard the USS Custer(APA-40)
which was Bayfield Attack Transport ship. It earned 5 battle stars for its roll in the
Marshall Islands, Marianas, Leyte, Luzon and Okinawa landings. The USS Custer
carried assault troops and LCVP, LCM, and LCP landing craft.
The helmet has battle damage and the original tag issued by the “In the field joint
intelligence”    SOLD      JH-134
